Disinformation: Tbilisi TV Tower and the Bridge of Peace were lit up with the colours of Azerbaijani flag in support of Baku.
Verdict: FactCheck concludes that this information is FAKE NEWS.
In light of the resumption of hostility between Armenia and Azerbaijan over Nagorno-Karabakh on 27 September 2020, different items of fake news have been promoted through the internet and FactCheck has published articles on this issue (see link 1, link 2 and link 3). In accordance with yet another item of disinformation, it was reported that the Tbilisi TV tower and the Bridge of Peace were lit up with the colours of the Azerbaijani flag to support Azerbaijan in the ongoing Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The fake news item has been widely promoted through the internet in the Russian and Azerbaijani languages and a video was also used to manipulatively promote the information alongside photographs.

The report that the Government of Georgia lit up the Tbilisi TV tower and the Bridge of Peace with the colours of the Azerbaijani flag to support Azerbaijan between the adversaries is a lie. The manipulative photographs, promoted concurrently with the conflict, were in fact taken on 28 May 2020 which serves as Independence Day for the First Republic of Azerbaijan. Georgia made a friendly gesture to congratulate the neighbouring state on the occasion of its important historical date.
